Crystal Blattenberger

Owner

Crystal’s journey into the beauty industry began in 2003, although she knew from a very young age that this was the path she wanted to follow. She still vividly remembers cutting all the hair off her Barbies until there was nothing left to cut. That early passion eventually led Crystal to graduate from Altoona Beauty School in 2003, and she’s been living her dream ever since.

In 2020, Crystal decided it was time to write her own chapter and opened The Cut. Her husband, Adam, and their kids, Van and Gemma, helped come up with the name and that was the beginning of their story.

“My goal was to create a space where everyone feels welcome, comfortable, and truly appreciated for supporting our business. I also wanted to build a positive work environment for my staff—one that’s as stress-free as possible—while always putting my girls first and making sure they know how valued they are. After all, I couldn’t have done this without them.”

She loves everything about the beauty industry. Helping someone feel better about themselves is incredibly rewarding. While she enjoys all aspects of the field, lately she’s been specializing in gray blending and permanent makeup.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the life I’ve built. I’m able to be a good wife, a good mother, a supportive employer, and a passionate hairdresser. They say you can’t have it all, but with a lot of hard work, I beg to differ.”
